Amid voting for the first phase in Chhattisgarh, another of the incident has happened in naxal affected Sukma district.
The naxals have fired at DRG personnel deployed for outer cordon around 2 kilometres away from Banda polling station this morning.
“The security forces retaliated and the firing from naxals’ side stopped after 10 minutes. All the jawans are safe and voting is underway”, confirmed the police in Sukma.
Earlier in the day, a CRPF personnel had suffered injuries while on election duty in Tondamarka area of the district.
Voting for 20 assembly segments is ongoing today in Chhattisgarh out of multiple districts are naxal infested.
