With election code of conduct now in force, poll schedule out and BJP having announced 85 of the 90 candidates for the upcoming assembly election, ruling Congress is now feeling the pressure to announce candidates.
Party sources claim that they might not be able to accommodate quite a number of sitting MLAs in their list and this is giving them shivers. It is learnt that today too, the Congress leaders including Kumari Selja, the Congress incharge for Chhattisgarh, TS Singhdeo, the Deputy Chief Minister and Pradesh Congress chief Deepak Baij are to meet at the Chief Minister’s residence to deliberate on the candidates.
Party sources are hopeful that candidates on some of the seats may be announced today itself.
