In Prayagraj, a high-profile sex racket operating under the guise of spa centers was exposed. During a major operation by the Prayagraj Commissionerate Police in the upscale Civil Lines area, authorities uncovered an illicit sex trade being conducted in spa centers on the second floor of P-Square Mall. Acting on a tip-off, police raided a complex near the Civil Lines bus stand, resulting in the arrest of 13 women and seven men.

The joint team of Civil Lines and Women’s Police Station conducted the raid at several spa centers (Junction Spa Center, New Green Spa Center, Paradise Spa Center, and Waves Spa Center) found to be involved in immoral activities. The operation caused a commotion, with girls and clients fleeing the scene. Among those detained was a girl from Uganda.

During the raid, police seized several objectionable items. Following interrogation, a case was filed under sections 3/4/5/6/7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, at Civil Lines police station. The arrested individuals, including both girls and men, were subjected to medical examinations and sent to jail.

According to DCP City Deepak Bhukar, the raids targeted four different spa centers—Junction Spa, Paradise Spa, New Green Spa, and Waves Spa—located above the roadways bus station in P-Square Mall. Despite having licenses from the small-scale industries department, these spa centers were found to be fronts for a high-profile sex racket.

Under the leadership of ADC Shwetabh Pandey, the operation resulted in the arrest of seven men, including five clients and two spa center managers. Among the 13 women arrested, 11 were found to be engaged in sex work. Additionally, one female manager and one female operator of the spa centers were also apprehended. The raid uncovered 20 mobile phones, sex-enhancing drugs, Kandy Force-200, other objectionable materials, open gloves, and ₹8,400 in cash.
