Police Hold Meeting with Event Organizers to Ensure Safety for New Year's Celebrations

Bilaspur, December 26 – In preparation for the New Year celebrations in 2025, the Bilaspur police held a meeting with hotel, restaurant, marriage palace, and other event venue managers to ensure law and order and public safety.
The meeting was convened at the Bilasagudi Police Line under the direction of Superintendent of Police Rajneesh Singh, with the participation of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Rajendra Jaiswal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sarkanda) Udayan Behar, City Police Superintendent (Kotwali) Akshay Sabadra, Trainee IPS Sumit Kumar, SDM Piyush Tiwari, and the Tehsildar of Bilaspur.
Guidelines Issued for New Year Events
During the meeting, several guidelines were issued for the events scheduled for December 31. It was emphasized that organizers must obtain prior permission before holding any event. If any celebrity is invited, advanced notification and approval would be mandatory.
To serve alcohol at the event, organizers must secure a valid FL5 license, and if they do not have it, they must contact the excise department immediately. All bars and hotels will be required to close by midnight. Regarding music, it was advised that the sound level of DJs be controlled after 10 PM, and only light music will be allowed for live music performances. To ensure security, bouncers will be deployed at all hotels, and proper arrangements for CCTV cameras and parking will be made. Security staff will be briefed on the event guidelines beforehand.
Strict Security and Safety Measures
It was also made mandatory for all hotels and event venues to maintain a register for guest entries. Strict prohibitions will be placed on items such as hookahs, drugs, weapons, and lighters. All staff members will be briefed on these regulations to ensure compliance. The police have urged the citizens of Bilaspur to adhere to the guidelines and celebrate the New Year in a safe and responsible manner.
