A social activist, Snehamayi Krishna, has taken legal action by filing a police complaint

A social activist, Snehamayi Krishna, has taken legal action by filing a police complaint implicating Parvathi, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with her brother Mallikarjun and another individual in connection with an alleged scam involving the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

Krishna's complaint alleges that senior government officials, including the Mysuru district collector, were involved in irregularities alongside Siddaramaiah's family and MUDA officials regarding the acquisition and development of land in survey number 464, Kesare village. It is claimed that Mallikarjun purchased land in 2004 that was purportedly part of a MUDA layout.

The controversy has gained attention due to a decision by MUDA in 2021, during a BJP administration, to allocate 38,284 square feet of land to Parvathi as compensation for allegedly illegal acquisition of her land, raising suspicions of favoritism.

In the filed complaint, Krishna asserts that Parvathi, along with Swamy and Devaraju, manipulated documents to embezzle significant sums from MUDA. Further allegations include improper involvement of the Mysuru district commissioner, tahsildar, deputy registrar, MUDA commissioner, and other officials in assigning 14 valuable housing sites to Parvathi in Mysuru.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has demanded a CBI investigation into the matter, while Home Minister G Parameshwara has stated his stance against initiating a CBI probe or forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the investigation.
