In Gandhinagar of Gujarat, the Indian Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar says, “The Predator MQ-9B drone is used for surveillance…This is a very useful asset…The govt has given its approval to buy it now. There is a plan to buy 31 Predator Drones…”.
The Navy chief’s statement comes at a time when India and US are about to hold 2+2 Ministerial meeting in Delhi where topics like defence co development and co production are going to be taken up prominently.
The two Foreign Ministers and Defence Ministers would sit together to take further the relationship between the two democracies amid rapidly changing geopolitical environment.
