In a major disclosure, the Election Commission of India has confirmed that seizures of over Rs 1,760 crores have been made in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram since the announcement of the elections.
The ECI further added that this is more than seven times (Rs 239.15 Cr) the seizures made in previous Assembly elections in these States in 2018.
Election for the five states are held simultaneously and months ahead of the national poll to elect the new Parliament.
So the massive seizures this time around shows that there is too much money moving around for winning the high stakes election.
