Ordeal of Passengers continue as 46 trains stand cancelled, from Aug 27
To minimize the impact on train operations due to infrastructure work, the South East Central Railway zone has coordinated with the West Central Railway zone. The work of adding a third line will be carried out simultaneously at Damoh and Umaria stations. As a result, 46 trains will be canceled on various dates from August 27 to September 9.
Previously, each zone planned its infrastructure work on different dates, leading to train cancellations on two separate occasions, which caused inconvenience to passengers. Now, the disruptions will still occur but only once.
The West Central Railway zone plans to add a third line at Damoh station in Jabalpur, while the South East Central Railway zone will do the same at Umaria station. Both zones have reached an agreement for this work. The third rail line between Bilaspur and Katni is an important and busy route that connects the region to North India. To connect Umaria station with the third line, yard remodelling work will be carried out from August 24 to September 5. Similarly, the connection of the third rail line at Damoh station between Murwara and Bina stations will take place from August 26 to September 9. Due to this work, train cancellations are necessary.
