Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur: The BJP-led government in Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, has completed its first year in office. During this period, the government has undertaken significant initiatives aimed at the holistic development of the state, adhering to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of progress. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Urban Administration, Arun Sao, visited the offices of Asian News Bharat and News Plus 21 to detail the government’s achievements over the past year.

Key Government Initiatives in One Year

In an exclusive interview with Managing Editor Jay Dubey, Deputy CM Arun Sao elaborated on various government schemes and their outreach to the neediest sections of society. When asked about pending initiatives, he emphasized that the Modi government’s policies have greatly benefitted the people of Chhattisgarh. The "double-engine" governance model has accelerated the pace of development, ensuring progress in every sector and for every community.

Support for Farmers

Deputy CM Arun Sao highlighted the government's pro-farmer measures, stating that the state has started procuring paddy from farmers at ₹3,100 per quintal. Additionally, pending dues from two years of paddy bonuses have been distributed, providing significant financial relief to farmers.

Empowering Women Economically

Discussing women’s empowerment, Sao mentioned the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, under which ₹1,000 is directly transferred every month to the accounts of 7.5 million women in the state. This scheme has proven instrumental in supporting the economic independence of women. He further stated that the government has provided housing to 900,000 families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, improving living conditions for economically weaker sections and contributing to their overall quality of life.

Encouraging Youth Success

Highlighting youth achievements, Sao shared that nine students from Lormi were recently selected for the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (PSC). The state government has honored these students and their families, encouraging young aspirants across the state to aim for similar success.

Urban Development and Monitoring

As Urban Administration Minister, Arun Sao explained his department's efforts to ensure high-quality development projects. He instructed urban body officials to conduct on-ground inspections three days a week, starting as early as 6 a.m., and to submit detailed reports with photographic evidence. This initiative has helped maintain consistent oversight of ongoing projects.

Tackling Naxalism: A Major Achievement

Addressing the ongoing anti-Naxal operations, Sao lauded the bravery of security personnel working under challenging conditions. He highlighted the increasing number of Naxals surrendering and reintegrating into society. Developmental initiatives in areas like Narayanpur and Bijapur—previously considered strongholds of Naxal activity—have brought improved facilities and a better quality of life for residents.

Warm Welcome by Asian News Bharat Team
