Ola Electric, which has been making headlines with its highly anticipated IPO, has introduced three new electric motorcycle models—Roadster Pro, Roadster, and Roadster X—on the occasion of India's Independence Day. Demonstrating its commitment to positioning India as a global leader in Electric Vehicles (EVs) and new energy, Ola Electric has officially entered the electric motorcycle market and announced that its vehicles will feature in-house batteries starting in April 2025.
The Roadster Pro, available in two battery variants, is priced at Rs 1,99,999 and Rs 2,49,999. It is powered by a motor delivering a peak output of 52 kW and 105 Nm of torque. The Roadster, which comes in three variants, is priced at Rs 1,04,999, Rs 1,19,999, and Rs 1,39,999, and is designed to be the fastest motorcycle in the commuter segment, featuring a 13 kW motor and available in 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh battery options. The Roadster X, offered with three different battery variants, is priced at Rs 74,999, Rs 84,999, and Rs 99,999 and is equipped with an 11 kW motor, making it the fastest electric motorcycle in its segment, with a 0-40 km/h acceleration in just 2.8 seconds (for the 4.5 kWh variant).
The Roadster Pro stands out as a high-performance option in the Indian market, with its two battery configurations—8 kWh and 16 kWh—priced at Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh, respectively. The bike is also available in more affordable trims, including the Roadster X and Roadster, with prices ranging from Rs 74,999 to Rs 1,39,999. The Roadster Pro, with its 52 kW motor, can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in just 1.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 km/h, making it an attractive choice for long-distance riders with a range of up to 579 kilometers on a single charge.
While the Roadster Pro currently faces no direct competition, it enters a market where other electric motorcycles like the Tork Kratos and Ultraviolette F77 appeal to EV enthusiasts.
