Now, a Narco test facility in Chhattisgarh, utilized to crack missing case
In Chhattisgarh, a new facility for conducting narco tests in serious criminal cases has been launched. This initiative follows an October agreement between the state's Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and AIIMS. The first narco test was conducted on a case from Raigarh district, marking the state’s inaugural use of this method. Plans are underway to use narco tests in other cases in the future. Previously, such tests required suspects to be sent to Hyderabad, Gujarat, or Chandigarh.
In October 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Rajesh Mishra, Director of the State FSL, and the AIIMS team to facilitate narco tests. After completing all necessary procedures, the first narco analysis test was conducted through AIIMS on July 27. This test pertained to a case from the Puspalipathra police station in Raigarh district.
Following the completion of the testing process, the report was sent to the respective police station via FSL, which will guide further action. The narco test was conducted with the cooperation of the Anesthesia, General Medicine, and Emergency Medicine departments, along with the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology departments. Ashok Jindal, Executive Director of AIIMS, congratulated the various departments for their efforts in initiating such tests to support the state administration.
