In a disturbing incident at Noida’s Maharishi University, senior students allegedly assaulted junior students who protested against ragging. A video of the incident, showing seniors beating and verbally abusing juniors, went viral on social media. The primary victim, identified as Adarsh Tripathi, reported the incident to the police, detailing the harassment and physical assault.

According to Adarsh, a first-year BBA student, the incident took place in the early hours when a group of senior students forcibly entered his hostel room. The seniors, identified as Piyush Kumar, Vishal Tiwari, Vishal Mishra, Shubhash Thakur, Raj Suman, Vikram Rao, Deepanshu Verma, and Raj Dubey, began ragging Adarsh and his friends. When they resisted, the seniors allegedly turned violent, breaking Adarsh’s tooth and tearing their clothes.

The university administration responded by suspending the accused students, and the Noida police began an investigation. Although Adarsh has not yet filed a formal complaint, the police have taken action based on the viral video, which has been widely shared, with users tagging Noida and UP Police to demand justice.

The video depicts around 40 students inside and outside the room, some of whom were involved in the assault. No official comment has been made by the university regarding the incident, but the police have confirmed they are proceeding with legal action to ensure accountability.
