Newly appointed Chinese envoy lands in Delhi, amid frosty India China ties

Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong arrives in Delhi to take charge. Xu Feihong, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to India, has landed in New Delhi to assume his post on Friday.

Officials from the Protocol Division of Ministry of External Affairs of India, Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Eritrea to India H.E. Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam and Minister Ma Jia, Minister Wang Lei, Minister Counselor Chen Jianjun from the Chinese Embassy greeted the ambassador and his wife Tan Yuxiu at the airport. Ambassador Xu Feihong is the 17th Chinese Ambassador to India.

Xu has stated that his priorities include deepening an understanding and friendship with India, while expanding on people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.

The new posting comes at a time when the Western block is out to woo India to become a counterweight to China. Even India is not comfortable with the aggressive and rising China.
