Modi-Putin telephonic talk, Russia outlines approaches to resolve conflict
It is now clear that United States and its allies have great concern after almost half of the electricity was taken out in a coordinated Russian attack. Soon after the attack, the American President dialed PM Modi on the Ukrainian situation. The telephone call assumes great significance in view of the fact that United States is set to vote in a few weeks time for the new President of USA.
It is understood that PM Modi was asked to dial Russian leader to calm the situation which has greatly aggravated after Ukrainian incursion into Kursk area of Russia and also repeated demand by Ukrainian leader Zelensky for more weapons and long range missiles.
India, as responsible nation and leader of Global South countries, has consistently voiced need for dialogue and diplomacy. In the subsequent telephonic talks between PM Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the latter got an opportunity to outline his nation's approach towards any resolution of conflict.
It is understood that Russia wants Ukraine out of Kursk area to even contemplate taking part in any international negotiations. The Western media has been highlighting Zelensky as representative of the whole country and is not taking interest in spelling out the conditions of the its residents, who are staring at an uncertain future.
Ukrainians are paying the price for the obsession of the Western block nations to weaken and destabilise Russia, which is keen to boost trade and connectivity and only objects to meddling in its internal affairs.
