Mob attacks police station leaving three personnel injured, now administration bulldozes house of main accused
In Chhatarpur, anger over an objectionable remark led to a mob attacking the City Kotwali police station, leaving the station in-charge and two others injured. Following the incident, on August 22, the administration took stringent action, demolishing the house of the main accused with a bulldozer.
The controversy began when a provocative comment during a discourse by Mahant Ramgiri on August 15 in Shah Panchale village, Nashik district, sparked outrage. Ramgiri is the head of the Sarla Island monastery in Maharashtra. Enraged by his remarks, over 200 people gathered at the Chhatarpur police station on Wednesday, leading to a confrontation with the police and subsequent stone-pelting.
The injured included station in-charge Arvind Kujur, constable Bhupendra Prajapati, and ADM's gunman Rajendra Chadhar, with the TI's condition reported as serious.
In response, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav ordered strict action, leading to an FIR against 46 identified individuals and 150 unidentified persons. The CM emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is a "state of peace" and that any planned attempts to disrupt law and order will not be tolerated. He directed senior police officials to swiftly identify and take tough action against the perpetrators to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
