accident

The car of Cabinet Minister Nandgopal Nandi's son and daughter-in-law, en route from Delhi to Lucknow, collided with a divider on the expressway, resulting in both being injured. They were admitted to a medical college for treatment and later transferred to Lucknow.

The accident occurred on Tuesday around 3:40 PM. Abhishek Gupta, the son of Minister Nandgopal Nandi, and his wife, Dr. Kaniska, were traveling in their Mercedes, with Abhishek driving. The car lost control near Tirwa Cut, crashed into the divider, and overturned. The high speed of the car caused it to roll multiple times.

Both Abhishek and Kaniska were injured and transported to the medical college by ambulance. Tirwa Police Station Officer Jitendra Singh reported that Kaniska’s relatives from Kanpur arrived at the college upon hearing the news. After initial treatment, they were sent to Lucknow under ambulance and police escort.

Witnesses at the accident site noted that the car was moving at speed. Upon hitting the divider, the car skidded for a considerable distance, with the front part of the vehicle sustaining significant damage and the engine being thrown about 100 meters away. Fortunately, the car's airbags deployed upon impact, preventing more severe injuries. Kaniska was thrown out of the car, while Abhishek remained trapped inside until he was rescued.
