Man dressed in police uniform nabbed in Kashi Vishwanath temple, heres what he revealed

A security breach in Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath temple where on Saturday, Inspector Chowk apprehended a fake police sub-inspector. Dressed in a police uniform, the imposter was escorting devotees for darshan and puja. Inspector Chowk took the fake sub-inspector to Chowk Police Station, where DCP Kashi Zone Gaurav Banswal questioned him.

Initial questioning revealed that the fake sub-inspector is Abhay Singh from Jalaun. Inspector Chowk suspected the imposter due to his appearance and build. The arrest created a brief commotion at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. During a security check, Inspector Chowk detained him. Abhay Singh was pretending to be a police officer to guide devotees for darshan, raising suspicion, leading to his arrest and subsequent questioning at the station.

DCP Gaurav Banswal arrived at the Chowk Police Station for further interrogation. The accused admitted to previously wearing a police uniform to various places to intimidate people. Inspector Chowk, Vimal Mishra, explained that the security personnel became suspicious of his activities at the temple. When questioned about his posting, the imposter claimed to be from Jalaun but failed to name a police station. The police then took him into custody.

Upon further interrogation, Abhay Pratap Singh confessed that he wore the uniform to avoid security checks and to easily gain access to the temple. Inspector Chowk informed the higher authorities about the incident.

"Someone wearing a uniform with two stars was standing in line for darshan at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The temple security police observed from a distance that their activity was suspicious because their uniform didn't quite seem genuine. Upon questioning by the temple police, it was revealed that they were fake. Further investigation is ongoing, " says Joint Commissioner of Police K Ezhilarasan.
