Malaika Arora's Father, Anil Mehta, Calls Daughters Before His Death, Saying 'I'm Sick and Tired'
Malaika and Amrita Arora's father, Anil Mehta, tragically passed away on Wednesday after an apparent suicide. Reports suggest that Anil Mehta made a final phone call to his stepdaughters, expressing his distress before falling from the sixth floor of his Bandra residence. Malaika’s mother, Joyce Polycarp, who was home at the time, shared details with the Mumbai Police. She recalled noticing his slippers and, upon searching for him, discovered a commotion below as a security guard called for help.
Anil’s death occurred around 9 AM while Malaika was traveling to Pune for work. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination at Bhabha Hospital, and police are investigating the incident as a possible suicide.
Malaika released a statement on Instagram, expressing the family's deep grief and requesting privacy: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time."
