A major accident occurred in Malad, where part of the 20th floor slab of a 23-story building collapsed, resulting in the tragic death of three people and injuries to three others. The incident took place around 12:10 PM in the Govind Nagar area of Malad (East), Mumbai. Fire brigade teams were immediately dispatched to the scene for rescue operations, and the injured were rushed to MW Desai Hospital, with two being admitted to the ICU.

The victims who lost their lives have been identified as Gopal Banika Modi, Sohan Jachil Rotha, and Vinod Keshav Sadar, while the injured include Jaleel Rahim Sheikh, Roopson Bhadra Mamin, and Mohammad Salamuddin Sheikh, who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

This tragic accident follows a similar incident in July in Mumbai, where a ground-plus-three building in Shahbaz village, Navi Mumbai, collapsed after heavy rains, trapping 52 people under the debris. Additionally, last month in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a five-story building collapsed, leading to the arrest of two builders on charges of illegal construction. The accident resulted in the death of two people and several injuries.

The frequency of such incidents raises concerns about construction safety and adherence to building regulations in these areas.
