Lucknow Road Accident: 17 Schoolchildren Injured in Car and E-Rickshaw Collision, Driver Flees Scene

Road Accident

In a major road accident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on the morning of November 13, a speeding car collided with two e-rickshaws carrying schoolchildren, leaving 17 students injured. The accident took place near Loco Colony in Anand Bagh around 8 AM as the children were on their way to CMS, LPS, and St. Teresa schools.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing the children's cries after the collision, prompting nearby shopkeepers to rush to the scene. The injured students were immediately transported to the railway hospital, where five are reported to be in serious condition. The car driver fled the scene after the accident, abandoning the vehicle (license plate UP 32 MD 0873), which displayed an “Advocate” sticker on the front.

E-rickshaw driver Lal Bahadur, who sustained a fractured leg, informed the CMS school sports teacher of the accident, enabling quick response from parents and school authorities who arrived at the hospital. Parents, overcome with emotion upon seeing their children’s injuries, expressed relief that their lives were spared. While five students remain under observation, others with minor injuries received first aid and were sent home.

Among the injured, Hariom, a CMS student, suffered a broken leg and is currently receiving treatment at Charak Hospital. Another student, Shalini, is also reported to be in critical condition. The police have launched an investigation and are searching for the driver responsible for the incident.
