An unfortunate incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, resulting in a tragic collision on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in the Bangarmau Kotwali area of Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district. A double-decker sleeper bus, en route from Motihari, Bihar to Delhi, collided with a milk tanker, leading to devastating consequences. According to reports, at least 18 individuals lost their lives, while 19 others sustained injuries.

District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi stated that the preliminary investigation suggested the bus was traveling at a high speed when it rear-ended the milk tanker. The collision was severe, causing the victims to be ejected from the bus. Among the deceased were three women and one child. The injured have been promptly receiving medical treatment.

Upon learning of the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and instructed officials to swiftly respond and aid in relief efforts. The scene of the accident was described as chaotic, with scattered debris, broken glass, and personal belongings strewn about.

The collision underscores the dangers of overspeeding and highlights the need for stringent adherence to traffic regulations, especially on high-speed expressways. The local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event as efforts to assist the injured and support affected families remain ongoing.
