Lightning strikes claim three women, Chief Minister announces compensation
In Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, three women tragically lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries due to lightning strikes on Friday. The victims were working in paddy fields when the strikes occurred. The deceased have been identified as Shraddha Yadav (35), Rakhi Painkara (20), and Akhiyaro Minj (40). The injured were promptly taken to hospitals in Ambikapur and Pathalgaon for treatment.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has directed local authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), CM Sai offered condolences and announced a compensation of ₹4 lakh for each family of the deceased. He assured that the district administration is providing all necessary support and medical assistance to those affected.
