The accused, identified as 58-year-old Ramachandrappa, served as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in Madhugiri, Tumakuru district.
The incident reportedly occurred when a woman from Pavagada visited the DySP’s office to seek help in resolving a land dispute.
