Jyotiraditya Scindia Announces Opening of Passport Service Centers in All 543 Parliamentary Constituencies

India's Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced that a passport service center will be established in all 543 parliamentary constituencies across India. The announcement was made during the inauguration of a new passport service center in Guna.
Scindia, who is the Member of Parliament for Guna in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further stated that six new passport service centers will be opened in Madhya Pradesh this year.
The Union Minister explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken the decision to set up one passport service center in each parliamentary constituency with the goal of expanding services to the people.
Scindia emphasized that the Department of Posts, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, is committed to fulfilling this vision. Additionally, the Minister highlighted the establishment of over 6,000 post offices across the country, aiming to enhance the postal services network.
Scindia also stressed the importance of reviving the tradition of handwritten letters, which he described as a sincere expression of one’s emotions. He noted that the postal services have undergone significant technological improvements in recent years.
Speaking about the new center in Guna, Scindia pointed out that previously, residents had to travel to Bhopal or Gwalior to apply for a passport. However, with the launch of the passport service center in Guna, this inconvenience will be resolved for the local population.
