With an eye on the Bihar election, the ruling JD(U) in its national executive meeting has passed a resolution for seeking special status category. The party has also decided to contest the Jharkhand state election.

With an eye on the Bihar election, the ruling JD(U) in its national executive meeting has passed a resolution for seeking special status category. The party has also decided to contest the Jharkhand state election. 

"Party's national executive decides on national issues... With the state assembly elections scheduled for 2025, it is natural to express gratitude and thank CM Nitish Kumar for the public's endorsement of his work..." says JDU leader Neeraj Kumar ahead of the JDU national executive meeting.

There is also increasing demand to bring CM Nitish Kumar's Nishant into active politics and hand him a major responsibility in the party .

BJP has assured the party that 2025 Bihar election will be contested in the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar.The party might also agree to Sanjay Jha as working President of JD(U). Jha is considered close to Nitish Kumar and currently is general secretary of the JD(U).
