Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election, BJP outs sixth list of candidates, fields five Muslims

BJP's sixth list for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections features 10 candidates, including five Muslims, with Dr. Bharat Bhushan representing Kathua.

The BJP has released its sixth list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, featuring 10 candidates, including five Muslims. Dr. Bharat Bhushan has been fielded from the Kathua constituency. 

Among the Muslim candidates, the party has nominated Idris Karnahi from Karnah, Ghulam Mohammad Mir from Handwara, Abdul Rashid Khan from Sonawari, Naseer Ahmad Lone from Bandipora, and Fakir Mohammad Khan from Gurez.

Other candidates include R.S. Pathania from Udhampur East, Dr. Bharat Bhushan from Kathua, Rajeev Bhagat from Bishnah, Vikram Randhawa from Bahu, and Surinder Bhagat from Marh.

Jammu and Kashmir, now a Union Territory, has a total of 90 assembly seats, with 47 in the Kashmir region and 43 in Jammu. Prior to delimitation, there were 87 seats, including 37 in Jammu and 46 in Kashmir. Four seats used to be part of Ladakh, which is now a separate Union Territory. After delimitation, six seats were added in Jammu and one in Kashmir.
