Iranian official visiting India, amid worsening West Asian situation

After Iran lost on influence in Lebanon and Syria, Dr Takht Ravanchi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, is visiting India for foreign office consultations.
It need be mentioned that India is invested in Iran at Chabahar port for connectivity to Afghanistan and Central Asian countries bypassing Pakistan. There is increasing fear that upcoming Trump administration could further worsen things for Iran. There are also fears that attempt of regime change in Iran could be made.
According to a senior Iranian official, the upcoming discussions will focus on expanding bilateral trade in both energy and non-energy sectors, enhancing connectivity and tourism, addressing regional and international security concerns, and advancing the completion of the Chabahar Port project.
Iran's state news agency, IRNA, reported on Wednesday that the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Public Relations Office announced that the 19th round of political talks between Iran and India is scheduled for Thursday and Friday in New Delhi, coinciding with Ravanchi’s visit to India.
