India successfully conducted the launch of its Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha, on September 6, 2024. The test, conducted under the Strategic Forces Command, validated all operational and technical parameters.

Earlier in April 2024, India had successfully tested the nuclear-capable Agni-Prime missile, which has a strike range of 1,000 to 2,000 km, from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island. The Agni-Prime test also met all objectives, with data from sensors and downrange ships confirming its reliable performance.

The Agni-4 launch on September 6 reaffirms India's missile capabilities and was deemed a significant achievement by the Defence Ministry, which confirmed that all parameters for operational success were met.
