Indian Mission Condemns Disruption of Consular Camp Outside Canadian Temple
The Indian mission in Canada condemned the disruption caused by anti-India elements outside a consular camp organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, near Toronto. In a press release, the High Commission of India in Ottawa expressed disappointment over the "violent disruption" on November 3, emphasizing that such interference in routine consular services is "deeply disappointing."
The mission highlighted its concerns for the safety of Indian nationals and applicants, adding that despite the disruption, over 1,000 life certificates were successfully issued to Indian and Canadian applicants.
The Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwara Council (OSGC) also denounced the incident, calling for community unity and an investigation. The OSGC underscored the importance of mutual respect and safety, urging local authorities to address the incident and reiterating that violence has no place in society. They called on community leaders and members to work together to foster an environment of unity and compassion.
