India pulls out of Chess Championship in Egypt, heres what triggered it

India pulls out of World Cadet Chess Championship in Egypt in view of ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

It has been confirmed that Indian delegation withdrew from the Championship-2023 that was to be held at Sharm el Sheikh from 14 Oct to 23 Oct.

The decision comes amid India bringing in its nationals from Israel as part of Op Ajay. The first flight under this mission touched down in India this morning itself. A total of 112 Indian nationals arrived on this plane.

The All India Chess Federation took this decision considering all the aspects of safety and security of young players as Egypt shares the border with Gaza as well as Israel.
