A fourth-year student of IIT- Kharagpur was found hanging in his hostel room. While the police investigation is underway, the deceased student’s father, told media, “Why is there so much stress among students in IIT? He was stressed due to a project.”
The student identified as K Kiran Chandra, was a fourth year dual degree student in Department of Electrical Engineering and hailed from Telangana.
Chandra was staying at the Lal Bahadur Shastri residential hall and this is where he committed suicide. Police is investigating the reason behind a brilliant student taking such an extreme step.
