In Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, a woman allegedly decided to leave her husband as soon after securing a job. Richa Vishwakarma, the wife, made the decision to separate upon receiving her appointment letter as a Patwari. Her husband, Neeraj Vishwakarma, has raised the matter with the District Magistrate through a formal petition. Neeraj recounted their history, stating they met five years ago and entered into a love marriage. He possesses the marriage documents, although his wife now denies their marital status.

According to Neeraj, his wife severed ties immediately upon landing the Patwari job. Since January 18, 2024, she has not been living with him. Her appointment letter for Patwari was issued on July 10, in the new tehsil of Jhansi. She hasn't made any contact since. There is a family court case ongoing, and she has not shown up on the date.

Neeraj described himself as very troubled by this situation and said he wanted his wife to come home and both live together comfortably. Neeraj and Richa got married on February 6, 2022, according to him.

It is worth noting that a similar case was brought to the public's attention in Uttar Pradesh last year. At that time, fourth-tier employee Alok Maurya filed a complaint with his wife Jyoti Maurya, who works as a UP PCS officer, accusing her of living apart from him. Alok, at the time, alleged that his wife was also having an illicit relationship with homeguard commandant Manish Dube.

In this case, the husband and wife accused each other for a long time. Jyoti had filed a dowry harassment case against her husband, while Alok had accused Jyoti of misusing her position and corruption.
