Hindus under attack, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad writes to United Nations, ready to march into Bangladesh
In response to the violence and attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, the highest body of Hindu saints in India, has urged the United Nations to pass a resolution condemning the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Parishad's President, Mahant Ravindra Puri, expressed deep concern over the recent violence against Hindus amid the political turmoil in the neighboring country.
Mahant Puri stated, “The whole world remains silent about the crimes committed against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.” He urged the UN Secretary-General to pass a resolution condemning the “wave of violence against Hindus” in Bangladesh. He added, “We hope you will understand the sentiments of the saints of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad and take necessary steps to control the violence and persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.”
In an interview with a news channel, Puri also mentioned that if permitted by the Indian government, Naga saints are prepared to march to Bangladesh to protect Hindu minorities. He said, “The atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh are unbearable. If the Indian government allows, Naga ascetics, who are born to protect Sanatan Dharma, are ready to march to Bangladesh to safeguard Hindus.”
