Hindu teachers are being forced to resign, in Bangladesh

Hindu teachers in Bangladesh forced to resign under duress, with Dr. Chandra Nath Poddar among those coerced into leaving their positions as religious persecution continues.

Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, Hindu teachers are being forced to resign under duress, with their jobs taken away after just two words are written (I resign). Dr. Chandra Nath Poddar, a professor in the Mathematics Department at Dhaka University, was coerced into resigning by students.

Many of the teachers who chose not to come to campus out of fear are being humiliated at their homes. The plight of minority Hindus in Bangladesh continues as they are now being compelled to resign from government jobs after facing attacks and persecution. Since August 5 after Sheikh Haseena fled the country for India, nearly 50 Hindu academics have been forced to resign.

This information was disclosed by the Bangladesh Student Unity Council, the student wing of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, during a press conference on Saturday.

Meanwhile exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen posted on X, stating, "The situation in Bangladesh has become extremely alarming. Teachers are being forced to resign. Journalists, ministers, and former government officials are being killed, tortured, and imprisoned. Generation Z (GenZ) has burned down industries of Ahmadi Muslims, and Sufi Muslim shrines and dargahs are being destroyed by Islamic extremists. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus remains silent on this entire crisis."
