In a major breakthrough, the main accused in the Hathras stampede which killed 121 people, Devprakash Madhukar has been arrested by Delhi Police and he has been handed over to the UP Police STF. He had fled the scene after the stampede and was on the run till now. One lakh reward was announced for his arrest.

It need be mentioned that Dev Prakash Madhukar was arrested a day after the UP police nabbed six people in connection with the Hathras stampede. Devprakash Madhukar was identified by the police as Mukya Sewadar or the one of the main coordinator in the 'satsang' conducted by preacher Narayan Sakaar Hari alias Bhole Baba in Hathras on Tuesday.

'Mukhya sevadar' Dev Prakash Madhukar was identified as the main accused by the police, according to the FIR. Police is of the opinion that the stampede occurred when several devotees scrambled to collect the soil from the preacher's feet, thinking it to be auspicious and with healing qualities.

Meanwhile, the police are actively gathering information on Narayan Sakaar Hari's background, and teams have been dispatched to cities where he has potential criminal records. However, his name has not been mentioned in the FIR.
