Advocate Gaurav Dwivedi files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Allahabad High Court demanding a CBI inquiry into the Hathras Stampede accident. As the stampede occurred during a religious event in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras and it claimed lives of 121 people thus far with many more injured and being treated at different hospitals, the forensic experts at the site are collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
CM Yogi Adityanath yesterday said that his government will punish those found responsible for this incident. Search operation is on for the preacher who is absconding for now. The stampede took place during a 'satsang' organized by self styled Godman, Bhole Baba alias Narayan Sakaar Hari. He has a huge following among the marginalized communities of Braj region in the state. Till now, 121 people have died and 28 injured in the incident. Police using drones for surveillance at

It is learnt that Uttar Pradesh police has registered an FIR under the new law against one Devprakash Madhukar, who is said to be 'Mukhya Sewadar'. Many are blaming the local administration for failing to check if the safety and amenities are enough to allow holding of such a mega religions event involving women and children.

"My thoughts are with those bereaved in Hathras. Prayers with the injured. The UP Government is working to assist those affected", the Prime Minister had said yesterday in the Lok Sabha as he was replying to the Opposition in a vote of thanks to the Presidential address.
The country's largest socio-cultural organization RSS has also expressed deeply sadness on the loss of lives in the tragic Hathras stampede.
