Haryana family gets reunited with missing boy, after over a decade
A family in Haryana has been joyfully reunited with their son, Satbir, after 11 long years, thanks to the efforts of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Haryana Police. Satbir, who had been missing since 2013, was recently found at a government care center in Lucknow.
The reunion took place on Thursday, September 26, when the AHTU team reconnected Satbir, also known as Tarzan, with his mother and brother. The breakthrough occurred when representatives from the care center noticed that a boy in their custody matched the description of a missing person shared by the Haryana Police.
The missing person poster, which had been circulated since Satbir’s disappearance from Karnal district in September 2013, contained vital details, including a dog bite scar on his hand and a monkey bite mark on his left arm, as described by his mother.
After confirming that these details matched a 20-year-old in their care, the government center contacted the Haryana Police. Once Satbir's identity was verified, he was reunited with his family.
The emotional reunion took place in the presence of Mamta Singh, Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Branch. This successful case adds to the Haryana Police's growing list of reunions, including an earlier case in May when a 29-year-old man, missing for two decades, was reunited with his family in Uttar Pradesh after an eight-month investigation.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Kumar and his team have played a pivotal role in reuniting over 800 missing individuals with their families over the years.
