Govt credits 'Niyad Nella Nar' scheme, for surrender of Maoists in a big way

Senior officials in Bijapur witness the surrender of five Maoists, including a high-bounty individual, as part of the government’s 'Niyad Nella Nar' scheme.

Bijapur: Inspired by the government’s impactful 'Niyad Nella Nar' scheme, five Maoists have decided to abandon violence and surrender to the police. Among those who surrendered is a Maoist with a bounty of five lakh rupees. Reports indicate that these Maoists were involved in violent activities, including firing, IED blasts, and arson.

The surrender took place in the presence of senior officials, including CRPF DIG Devendra Singh Negi, Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Yadav, DSP Sudip Sarkar, and DSP Dinesh Sinha. Each of the surrendered Maoists received a cash incentive of 25,000 rupees from the police. In 2024 so far, a total of 185 Maoists have surrendered, while 411 have been arrested.
