"..Govinda is fine now..", says wife Sunita, police continue with probe
Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja arrives at CritiCare Asia where he is admitted after a bullet injury in his leg. She says, "Govinda is fine now. He is much better. He will be discharged most probably this evening or tomorrow...I have prayed for him and come here...".
Before Govinda was transferred from the ICU to a regular ward at a Mumbai hospital, his longtime co-stars Raveena Tandon and Rajpal Yadav visited him. Govinda, who sustained a leg injury after accidentally shooting himself, is now recovering. His colleagues assured fans that the actor is recuperating well.
Bollywood actor and politician Govinda was injured on Tuesday morning after accidentally discharging a firearm. He later issued a statement informing his fans that the doctors successfully removed the bullet and that he is recovering, thanks to their love and blessings from the Almighty. However, a team from the Mumbai Crime Branch visited the hospital to investigate the incident, gathering details from Govinda.
Reports indicate that the police are not fully convinced by Govinda's initial statement and may record it again. Although no evidence of foul play was initially found, the police are still not entirely satisfied and are planning further inquiries. It has also been revealed that Govinda’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, was questioned, and her statement has been recorded.
The ongoing investigation has not yet found any concrete evidence to suggest Govinda is being dishonest. However, a police officer raised a critical question about how a 9mm bullet could have been fired from a 0.32 bore revolver, which doesn't accommodate such bullets. This discrepancy has prompted the police to investigate the case from both accidental and criminal perspectives. There is also suspicion that someone else might have been present with the actor at the time of the incident.
