Giriraj Singh Calls for Bharat Ratna for Nitish Kumar, Praises His Leadership

In a surprising turn, Union Minister Giriraj Singh has demanded that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor. Singh praised Kumar for leading Bihar to new heights, despite being once a strong critic of the CM. Singh’s statement comes amidst ongoing political discussions and news of increasing alignment between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Kumar's leadership.
Speaking about Kumar's tenure, Singh noted, "Under Nitish Kumar's leadership, Bihar has come a long way from the days of the Lalu-Rabri regime, which left the state in a state of disarray. Nitish Kumar not only pulled Bihar out of that crisis but also elevated the state's status." Singh added that, in recognition of Kumar's service, the nation should honor him with the Bharat Ratna.
Singh also extended the same call for Odisha’s former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, praising his years of leadership and the positive impact on the state. "Both Nitish Kumar and Naveen Patnaik have served their states with distinction and should be honored with the highest recognition," Singh stated.
Bihar Assembly Elections and Nitish Kumar's Leadership
While discussing the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, Giriraj Singh firmly stated that the BJP will contest under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, despite any opposition from rival parties. Singh expressed confidence that the NDA would retain power in Bihar, dismissing any attempts to undermine Kumar's leadership.
Criticism of Lalu Yadav and Jungle Raj
Giriraj Singh took a jibe at Lalu Yadav, recalling the state of Bihar during his tenure. "The younger generation may not be aware, but those who witnessed Bihar under Lalu’s 'Jungle Raj' know the condition of the roads, schools, and hospitals back then. It was chaos, but Nitish Kumar turned it around,” Singh said, emphasizing the stark contrast in governance between the two leaders.
Bangladeshi Infiltration and National Security Concerns
The minister also raised the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration, claiming it posed a threat not just to Bihar but to the social harmony of the entire country. "It is high time for the government and society to identify and act against these infiltrators. They pose a risk to the social fabric, not just in Bihar but in various other states as well," Singh asserted.
BJP’s Focus on Nitish Kumar for 2025 Elections
In the midst of ongoing discussions about the face of the NDA for the 2025 Bihar elections, Giriraj Singh’s statement reaffirmed the party's trust in Nitish Kumar's leadership. He made it clear that the 2025 elections would be fought under Kumar's guidance, and the NDA would emerge victorious once again in the state.
Singh concluded by saying that despite opposition claims, the NDA would secure a win in the upcoming elections, underlining the strong leadership and development achieved by Nitish Kumar in Bihar.
