Four people were killed and 30 others injured in a school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, according to reports. Law enforcement responded to the scene on Wednesday morning after the incident was reported.

MSNBC, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, reported the fatalities and injuries. U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the violence, stating, "Jill and I are mourning the loss of lives due to senseless gun violence, and we stand with the survivors whose lives have been forever changed in Winder, Georgia."

A Barrow County Schools spokesperson confirmed that the situation was under control by midday, and students were being released. Witnesses described the chaos during the attack, with one student, Sergio Caldera, recounting how his chemistry class went into lockdown after hearing gunshots.

Live footage showed ambulances and emergency services at the scene, with victims being airlifted to hospitals. The Barrow County Sheriff's Office reported that law enforcement and EMS personnel were dispatched around 10:23 am.

The FBI also sent agents to assist with the response. The incident is part of a larger issue of school shootings in the U.S., sparking ongoing debates over gun laws and the Second Amendment.

In a press conference, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said the investigation is ongoing and could take several days to uncover the full details. The school district urged parents not to visit the school during the lockdown for safety reasons.
