Even as police claims arrest of two accused in a case of gangrape of a minor girl, the issue now has acquired political dimension in Rajsamand of Rajasthan.
While Rajsamand ASP Shivlal Bairwa, claimed before media that an FIR under the POCSO Act has been registered, he added that ”the parents have demanded a medical test…Police have detained two accused and taken them into custody…”.
But BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla slammed the local police administration saying, “Today Rajasthan has become number one in the exploitation of women… This is because the Ashok Gehlot government saves rapists and criminals…When the girl and her family went for justice to the police, it came to light that efforts were being made to suppress the matter because the accused were linked to the Congress party…This kind of attitude is not new; many such incidents have occurred…Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has never visited any victims…Today, Rajasthan and the country are ashamed…”.
The case is said to be where a minor girl along with four of her siblings were taken on a car ride but the two accused took the girl inside of the forest area to violate her and kept the other children locked in the car.
