Andhra Minister for Transport and Youth Affairs Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy affirmed that the TDP-led NDA government is dedicated to fulfilling its 'Super Six' promises, including the eagerly anticipated ‘free bus facility for women.’ This scheme is set to launch soon following a meeting with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

At a press conference held at the APSRTC headquarters on Friday, Ramprasad Reddy criticized the previous administration under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for its mishandling of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), which he claimed led to operational and administrative mismanagement. He emphasized the government's commitment to revitalizing APSRTC by enhancing passenger facilities and exploring new revenue opportunities through asset utilization.

“We aim to make the State accident-free and improve service quality for our passengers. Under the previous YSRC regime, APSRTC saw no development or fleet improvements,” he noted.

Ramprasad Reddy also promised to address long-standing employee issues and demands with the Chief Minister shortly. He outlined plans to promote the brand ‘Amaravati’ through APSRTC, establish infotainment zones at major bus stations, and acquire 600 battery-operated buses. Minister for Excise, Mines, and Geology Kollu Ravindra announced that the state government would soon introduce the free bus travel scheme for women. He flagged off five new APSRTC buses at the Machilipatnam bus depot on Friday.

Ravindra added that the NDA government plans to expand the RTC fleet by adding 1,500 new buses, with the first phase including the delivery of 200 buses, five of which were allocated to the Machilipatnam depot.

“While the previous TDP government took significant steps to strengthen RTC and support its employees, the YSRC government’s unscientific merger of RTC with the state government led to financial difficulties for the corporation,” Ravindra stated.

He concluded by highlighting the current administration's efforts to rescue APSRTC, improve services at the Machilipatnam RTC bus station, and increase bus services on high-demand routes.
