Four jawans lose lives, 28 others injured as bus falls into Budgam gorge, rescue efforts launched

Damaged bus involved in tragic accident in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where four BSF jawans lost their lives and 28 others were injured during election duty.

Four BSF jawans lost their lives, and 28 others were injured when a bus carrying 36 personnel plunged into a deep gorge in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. The bus, hired for election duty ahead of the second phase of Assembly polls, met with the tragic accident near Brell village in Watarhaal, Budgam district.

A rescue operation was swiftly initiated with the help of locals, and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Visuals from the scene show the bus severely damaged. Among the deceased were jawans identified as Dayanand, Ram Ajadiya Singh, and Sukh Basi Lal.

According to officials, six of the injured personnel are in critical condition, and the injured civilian driver is also receiving medical attention. The accident has cast a shadow over the preparations for the upcoming polls.
