FM Radio Likely Launch in Raipur Central Jail, Stress Relief of Inmates
In a unique initiative to alleviate stress among inmates, Raipur Central Jail in Chhattisgarh is set to launch an FM radio station. This station, named "Umang-Tarang," will provide entertainment and promote positive change for the prisoners. Preparations are underway, and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will inaugurate the station later this month.
Inmates will be provided with microphones, speakers, cables, and newspapers as part of the program. Broadcasting is planned from 10 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM daily.
The radio will start each day with the famous song "Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum" from the film Do Ankhen Barah Haath, followed by news updates and various programs. Inmates will also have the opportunity to play song requests for their fellow prisoners.
The radio station will be connected to all barracks through cables to ensure every inmate can tune in. Raipur Central Jail Superintendent Amit Shandilya mentioned that the prison administration will monitor all broadcasts to prevent any content with offensive language or potential to cause stress.
