FIR filed in Ayodhya after lights worth 50 lakhs reported stolen, know more
A theft of 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 gobo projector lights, valued at over ₹50 lakh, has been reported in Ayodhya, following a complaint lodged by a contractor. The lights were installed on Ram Path and Bhakti Path by the firms Yash Enterprises and Krishna Automobiles under a contract from the Ayodhya Development Authority.
The theft was discovered in May, but the FIR was only filed on August 9. An investigation is currently underway, though police have refrained from commenting further on the case.
According to reports, the theft was noted during a May inspection, though all lights were initially accounted for up until March 19. The complaint was made by a representative of the firms involved, and an FIR was registered at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station on August 9.
Ayodhya has been undergoing significant renovations in preparation for the Ram temple consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22. The stolen lights were part of this extensive refurbishment effort.
