A delegation of farmer leaders from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka met with Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, at the Parliament House complex to discuss the challenges faced by farmers.

The meeting also included Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, and other Congress leaders such as Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Dharamvir Gandhi, Amar Singh, Deepender Singh Hooda, and Jai Prakash.

The delegation, representing the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (NP) and the Kisan Majdoor Morcha (KMM), highlighted their concerns to Gandhi. Following the meeting, Gandhi stated, “Our manifesto includes a legal guarantee for MSP. We have assessed that this can be implemented. We decided to engage with other leaders of the INDIA alliance to pressure the government for a legal guarantee on MSP for farmers.”

A legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) has been a major demand from farmers who protested against three controversial farm laws during the Narendra Modi government's second term. The government eventually repealed these laws in response to the protests.
