BIG BREAKING, Encounter in Abujhmad Region: Security Forces Recover 5 Naxal Bodies, Including 2 Women

Security forces have confirmed of an encounter with the naxals in Abujhmad area surrounding Narayanpur and Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.
It has been confirmed thus far that as many as five uniformed Naxal operatives, including two women, were killed in the operation. Some of the senior cadres were identified and it is learnt that the deceased include senior members of the DKZSC PLGA Platoon No. 32.
Security forces have also recovered a significant cache of automatic weapons, including AK-47 and SLR rifles.
A coordinated anti-Naxal operation was launched in the remote southern Abujhmad region, involving joint forces from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) units of Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bastar, and Kondagaon, alongside STF units.
The encounter commenced on the evening of January 4, 2025, and has involved intermittent exchanges of gunfire.
Search operations remain active as security personnel continue to comb the area for more Naxal operatives and hidden supplies.
The neutralization of high-ranking Naxal cadres and the seizure of advanced weaponry mark a significant milestone in the fight against Naxal insurgency.
This operation highlights the security forces' strengthened efforts to establish control in one of India’s most challenging terrains for counter-insurgency operations.
IG Bastar P Sundarraj says "On 4th January, there was an encounter between the security forces and Naxalites in which bodies of 4 Naxals including 2 women were recovered. In that encounter, one of our soldiers also lost his life. After that, the operation continued continuously. Today, 1 more body was recorded by the team. Thus, in this operation, a total of 5 Naxalites including 2 women were killed and a large number of weapons were also recorded. The post-mortem of the bodies is being done. As soon as the operation is completed, detailed information will be received."
