Election Commission to announce poll schedule for five states today, Chhattisgarh likely to see two phased voting

The Election Commission by noon today will announce the poll schedule for five states including that of Chhattisgarh.

While the rest of states may have single phase voting schedule, Chhattisgarh might see two phased poll as before. It is likely that Bastar and rest of Chhattisgarh will vote in two different phases.

With the announcement of the poll schedule, the election code of conduct will come into force from today itself.

The election to the five states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram apart from Chhattisgarh are seen as semifinals to the Parliamentary poll that follows some months later.
