Eating syrupi sweet lying down on bed, boy choked to death
In a tragic incident in Jharkhand, a family was struck by mourning just a day before Raksha Bandhan. The family’s only son, 17-year-old Amit Singh, died after a choking incident. While lying on his bed and eating rasgulla (a syrupi sweet) while playing a game on his mobile phone, Amit suddenly choked on the rasgulla. Despite his uncle Rohini Singh’s efforts to help and clear his airway, Amit could not be saved. His family rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident occurred in the village of Patmahulia in Galudiya, East Singhbhum. Amit’s father, Sujit Singh, was away at a Panchayat meeting at the time. His mother, Urmila Singh, is devastated by the loss. Amit, who had only one younger sister, had been eagerly anticipating Raksha Bandhan, making this tragedy even more poignant. The village is in shock as they mourn the untimely death of the young boy.
